Log towing is the backbone of Gowlland Towing and we have the expertise, tugs and crew to handle all your log towing needs.  Our six coastal vessels and eleven yarding vessels allow us to build tows quickly.

In partnership with Scott Dwyer and the team at Coastal Resource Mapping Ltd. in Nanaimo, we have developed a new and innovative computer software program that tracks log booms and tow orders called; Floodtow.  Floodtow can be adapted to interface with our customers systems to minimize data entry errors and manage tows efficiently and effectively. 

Gowlland Towing has high powered tugs that have the capacity to tow loaded barges up to 8,000 tons.

In past years Gowlland Towing has managed the booming grounds in Menzies Bay, Gowlland Harbour, Port Hardy and Sargeaunt’s Pass and our veteran crew have in excess of 100 years of experience.  We have a fleet of twelve winders and super winders to manage both these services and ship loading services.

We own or have access to storage grounds in Menzies Bay, Gowlland Harbour, Plumper Bay, Nanaimo and Crofton.

Gowlland Towing’s fleet of coastal and yarding vessels have the adaptability to safely escort or assist vessels into ports and docks in Campbell River and Texada Island.

Gowlland Towing has a highly efficient crew running tug boats and winders undertaking this specialized work and provides log tending services to Tidal Transport & Trading Limited at the Nanaimo and Crofton ports.
